Clingmans Dome

The fragrances of the forest make encountering the odors of “civilization” almost unbearable. Confine a lot of humans to a small space and we stink up the joint. Not up here though. The mountains are cold and pure.

Now, before you go thinking I’m a completely miserable loner that absolutely can’t stand the sight of people, let me give that statement some context.

I was pumping gas one day last week and afterwards I had to go inside for something. On my way in, my senses were attacked by the overwhelming stench of exhaust, hot asphalt, fast food, and a dozen other unpleasant smells. (that we created) Not only that, but just the amount of noise we make is deafening, and that becomes increasingly apparent the more time you spend in places like this.img_8427
